Pentel P245 0.5 mm
The Pentel P245 is the first real classic pencil that I have ever gotten from an antique store in Ohio. Now, to start off, because we are dealing with a classic Pentel model, it's a metal clutch. Despite its age, the clutch, with the ten click test, produces 6 mm of lead. As for the solidity, because of its age and use, there is resistance in the button, but still very solid. As for the features, again, due to the era of which this pencil was made, there were a few features: a cap, a clean-out rod, and a metal clip. The metal clip and the cap are both well used and have been, but the clean-out rod gives me a look into the past. The classic era of mechanical pencils was focused on function, subtracting the number of features. This clean-out rod on a NON-DRAFTING pencil represents that and is a very rare feature to find now. As for the construction, standard Pentel quality. Now, let me shut up for a sec.
Would I recommend this? Just make sure you find a good model. As with the design, the P200 still does it best.
